Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and is located on the northern bank of the River Tagus Estuary on the European Atlantic Coast. The city boasts much historical interest with many buildings and narrow streets dating back to medieval times. The Western and Northern slopes of the old city are crowned by St George’s Castle.

Lisbon is easily accessible by air, road, railway or sea. Lisboa International Airport, 7 km from the city centre, has daily flights to and from the major European and International cities. More details on how to get to Lisbon are included on the conference website.
